EDS’s annual conference is focusing on the intersection between the burgeoning tourist industry and the natural world. Tourism can be relatively benign in its impacts especially when considered alongside say dairying. But it can also have negative impacts where numbers are not carefully managed.
Wild Places will examine these issues in depth with a range of national and international experts and political leaders. Funding mechanisms to improve species management will form part of the focus and we’ll do a stock take of how New Zealand is doing in tackling our big environmental challenges.
A half-day workshop will explore the usefulness or otherwise of collaborative processes. For further information go to www.edsconference.com
